John was born in 1780 in Stow Creek, Cumberland, NJ.1 John's father was David Wood and his mother was Elizabeth Russell. His paternal grandparents were John Wood and Mary Ayers. He had a brother and two sisters, named Richard, Elizabeth and Lucy. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Auley, David, Prudence and Sarah S. He died at the age of 72 on August 21st, 1852 in Pharisburg, Union, OH. He was buried in Brannon Cemetery, Leesburg, OH.1 1 -
