William Rufus Mahaffey 
William Rufus was born in 1831. William Rufus' father was Joseph Mahaffey and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Allman. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Mahaffey and Elizabeth Cathey. He had three brothers and a sister, named Robert Andrew, Doctor Franklin, Joseph S and Margaret L. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 68 in 1899.-
