She had seven brothers and six sisters, named John M, Joseph W, Lafayette J, James Samuel, William Tell, Jefferson Davis, Henry B, Harriet E, Laura A, Mollie R, Kathleene, Sue and Emma Vance. She was the second oldest of the fourteen children.-
