Phebe was born on January 24th, 1797 in , Cumberland, NJ.1 Phebe's father was Henry Harris Gandy and her mother was Tamson Garrison. Her paternal grandparents were Abijah Gandy and Mary Sheppard. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Abijah, George Washington, Mary, Matilda, Ruth Sheppard, Tamson and Polly Shepherd. She had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Henry H, Shepherd M, John S, Margaret, Hannah, Rachel, Sarah Ann and Elizabeth Sheppard. She died in Lee, Lee, IA.1 -
