Gerberga was born in 0935.1 Gerberga's father was Gilbert of Lotharingia Duke of Lotharingia and her mother was Gerberge of Saxony Abbess of Notre Dame. Her paternal grandparents were Regnier I Longneck of Hennegau Duke of Lorraine and Ermentrude (Hersent) Abbess of Hasnon; her maternal grandparents were Henry I the Fowler King of Germany and Matilda von Ringelheim. She had a sister named Alberade. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Charles, Alberade, Gerberga and Matilda.1 -
