Charles II the Bald King of West Franks 
Charles II the Bald was born in Frankfurt, Hessen-Nassau.1 Charles II the Bald's father was Louis le Debonaire Holy Roman Emp and his mother was Judith the Fair von Bayern. His paternal grandparents were Charlemagne Holy Roman Emp and Hildegarde von Vinzgau; his maternal grandparents were Welf of Swabia Ct of Alemania and Heilwig von Sachsen. He had a sister named Gisela. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Lothar I de Italia, Louis II the German and Hildegard de Aquitaine. He died in Modano or Brios, France.1 General Notes

Charles 'The Bald' King Of The Franks arranged with his two
half brothers to divide the great empire of their grandfather,
Charlemagne. He accomplished this by the Treaty of Verdun in
843. Charles received the western portion, thus becoming the
first to rule France as a separate kingdom.
