Rufus Benson was born on July 26th, 1909.1 Rufus Benson's father was Rufus Shealy and his mother was Rosabelle Mae Sease. His maternal grandparents were James Hammond Sease and Atline Haddena (Dessie) Epting. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named David Sease, James Winford, Gerald Owens (Jack), Jacob Leonard, Leon Frederick, Phillip Eugene, Carey Cyril, Doyle Eargle, Florence, Louise Angella, Infant Girl and Christine Mae.-
