John Leonard (Lyn) was born on May 29th, 1824 in Lexington County, SC.1 John Leonard (Lyn)'s father was John C. Sease and his mother was Christina Bearberg Lowman. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Dan, Jesse Isaac, John Calvin, Asa Melanthion, Luther, Andrew Noah, Mary Caroline, Elizabeth, Katharine Kissiah, Eliza and Martha Ann Mehaily. He was the third oldest of the twelve children. He died due to Phuropneumonia at the age of 93 on May 17th, 1918 in Bur Sease-Fike Cemetery, Newberry, SC.
