Andrew Noah Sease 
Andrew Noah was born on March 16th, 1840.1 Andrew Noah's father was John C. Sease and his mother was Christina Bearberg Lowman. His paternal grandparents were John Mark Suss\Seas\Sease and Nancy Shirer. He had six brothers and five sisters, named John Leonard (Lyn), Dan, Jesse Isaac, John Calvin, Asa Melanthion, Luther, Mary Caroline, Elizabeth, Katharine Kissiah, Eliza and Martha Ann Mehaily. He was the youngest of the twelve children. He died due to Cancer at the age of 80 on May 20th, 1920 in Little Mountain, SC. He was buried in Mt. Andrew Noah Seas[e] was born on Monday the 16th of March in the year of
our Lord 1840. Sponsors in Baptism Levi Boland and Martha

Enlisted in Confederate Army August 1861. He enlisted at Hope Station as
a Private in Co C, 3 Reg't South Carolina Infantry. He fought in the
Battle of Gettysburg and was wounded on 2 July 1863. Taken as POW by
Union forces. He is listed as a "Paroled Prisoner" for January and
February 1864.
Listed in the Register of sick and wounded Confederates in the hospitals
in and about Gettysburg, Pa., after the battle of July 2, 3, and 4,
1863. Complaint: Resection Left Elbow. Appears on a Roll of Prisoners
of War at Letterman General Hospital, Gettysburg, Pa., August 10, 1863.
Name appears as signature to a Roll of Prisoners of War at West's
Buildings Hospital, Baltimore, Md., November 12, 1863, transferred to
City Point.
Appears on a Morning Report of Jackson Hospital, at Richmond, Va., for
November 18, 1863.
A.N. Sease appears on a Register of Receiving and Wayside Hospital, or
General Hospital No. 9, Richmond, Virginia, as being admitted November
16, 1863.

Death of Mr. Noah Sease
Mr. A.N. Sease died at his home at Chapin on Thursday morning and was
buried at Chapin Friday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock, services by Revs. J.J.
Long and Cromer. He was 80 years old and had been afflicted with
cancer. He leaves a widow, nine children and several grandchildren, and
is also survived by two brothers, Messrs. Daniel E. and G. Luke Sease,
both of Newberry. The deceased was of a long-lived family, one brother,
Mr. Leonard Sease, having died at the age of 94; another brother, Mr.
Lang Sease, dying at the age of about 79; and still another brother, Mr.
John Sease, being about 80 when he died. Of the living brothers, Mr. Dan
Sease will be 95 in September while Mr. Luke Sease will be 84 the 20th of
June.
The deceased was a gallant ex-Confederate, having been wounded in the arm
at Gettysburg. Part of the bone was taken out, but the wound healed so
perfectly that the arm was about as strong as ever.
Of the nine surviving children three are boys, one of the sons Mr. John
Sease being a section master on the C.N.&L. railroad, living in
Prosperity (rest cut off)

Death Claims Well Known Citizen of Chapin

Chapin, May 24 - Our community has again been saddened by the death of
one of its oldest and most esteemed citizens, Mr. A.N. Sease, who passed
away last Thursday in his 80th year. Funeral services were held at Mt.
Horeb Lutheran church, of which Mr. Sease had been a faithful member for
many years. The services were conducted by Rev. J.L. Cromer, the pastor,
assisted by Rev. J.J. Long. The burial was with Masonic honors.
Mr. Sease was a gallant Confederate soldier, having been a member of the
Third South Carolina regiment in the War Between the Sections. He was an
upright citizen and was held in high esteem by many friends. His wife,
who was Miss Jella Epting before marriage, survives him, together with
nine children, as follows: Mrs. Fannie Lucas of Columbia, Mrs. Margart
Addison of Newberry, Mrs. Ava Summrs and Mrs. J.W. Wessinger of Chapin,
