William I the Lion was born in 1143 in Scotland.1   William I the Lion's father was Henry of Scotland Prince of Scotland and his mother was Adelaide (Ada) de Warenne.  His paternal grandparents were David I The Saint King Of Scots and Matilda (Maud) de Huntington; his maternal grandparents were William de Warenne II Earl of Warren & Surrey and Isabella Capet de Crépi de Vermandois. He had a brother and a sister, named David Canmore and Margaret.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 71 on December 4th, 1214 in Stirling, Scotland.1
