EAldred of Bernicia was born in 1009 in of Northumbria beyond Tyne, Scotland.1 EAldred of Bernicia's father was Uchtred (Ughtred) Earl of Northumbria and his mother was Ecgfryth of Chester. His paternal grandparents were Waltheof of Northumbria Earl of Northumbria and Elfeda (of Northumbria); his maternal grandfather was Aldhun Bishop of Durham. He had a half-sister named Edith. He died at the age of 29 in 1038.1 General Notes
