His paternal grandparents were John Benton and Miss DeWitt. He had a brother and three sisters, named Baynard Benjamin, Rosa Alice, Laura Lilla and Sarah L.. He had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named Henry M., Sintha E., Elinor Naomi, Martha L., Jane A. S. and Elvira. He died at the age of 80 on January 27th, 1957 in Charleston, SC.1 -
