Elinor Naomi was born on October 4th, 1861 in Colleton County, SC.1 Elinor Naomi's father was Benjamin Gaines Benton and her mother was Jane A. S. Varn. Her paternal grandparents were John Benton and Miss DeWitt. She had a brother and four sisters, named Henry M., Sintha E., Martha L., Jane A. S. and Elvira. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William Oliver, Baynard Benjamin, Rosa Alice, Laura Lilla and Sarah L.. She died at the age of 39 on April 11th, 1901.1 -
