Rosa Alice was born on June 20th, 1869 in Colleton County, SC.1 Rosa Alice's father was Benjamin Gaines Benton and her mother was Laura Ann Mathis. Her paternal grandparents were John Benton and Miss DeWitt. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William Oliver, Baynard Benjamin, Laura Lilla and Sarah L.. She had a half-brother and five half-sisters, named Henry M., Sintha E., Elinor Naomi, Martha L., Jane A. S. and Elvira. She died at the age of 90 on July 18th, 1959 in Charleston, SC.1 -
