Edward Carter Turner 
Edward Carter was born on August 5th, 1816 in "Kinloch", The Plains, Fauquier Co., VA. Edward Carter's father was Thomas Turner and his mother was Eliza Carter Randolph. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Turner and Jane Fauntleroy; his maternal grandparents were Robert Randolph and Elizabeth Hill Carter. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named Henry Smith, Charles Cocke, Robert Randolph, Shirley Carter, Thomas, William Fitzhugh, Henry Smith, Susan Baynton, Elizabeth Anne, Marietta Fauntleroy, Lavinia Beverley, Caroline Virginia and Eliza Carter Randolph. He was the third youngest of the fourteen children. He died at the age of 74 on March 3rd, 1891 in "Montrose", The Plains, Fauquier Co., VA.-
