Martha Thurston 
Martha was born in April 1842 in Goochland Co., VA. Martha's father was Reuben Thurston and her mother was Mildred B. Mahanes. Her paternal grandparents were William R. Thurston and Mary Thurston; her maternal grandparents were Lewis Augusta Mahanes and Drucilla Brockman. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Nathaniel James, Thomas W., Henry, Charles, Reuben, Mary C., Nancy and Mildred Elizabeth. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She died after 1895.-
