Obediah was born on April 27th, 1751 in Hanover Co., VA.1 Obediah's father was Maddox Stanley and his mother was Huldah Magahe. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stanley and Elizabeth Maddox; his maternal grandparents were Samuel McGehee and Mary Ladd. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William, Maddox, John, Elizabeth, Mary, Rachel and Hulda.General Notes
