John Stanley 
John was born on October 22nd, 1799. John's father was Michael Stanley and his mother was Mary Gurley. His paternal grandparents were Strangeman Stanley and Jemima Mills; his maternal grandparents were John Gurley and Lydia ?. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, Jonathan, Moses, Aaron, Nathan, Ira, Josiah, Gurley, Elizabeth, Abigail, Rebecca and Hannah. He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children.-
