Matthew Pleasants 
Matthew was born about 1741. Matthew's father was John Cocke Pleasants and his mother was Susanna Woodson. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Pleasants and Sarah Goode; his maternal grandparents were Tarleton Woodson and Ursula Fleming. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Archibald, Joseph, James, Tarleton, John, Ursula and Susannah. He was the third oldest of the eight children.-
