Vara Crank Payne 
Vara Crank was born on June 7th, 1886 in Fluvanna, VA. Vara Crank's father was William James Payne and her mother was Cornelia Ann Flannagan. Her paternal grandparents were William Payne and Maria Calais Allegre; her maternal grandparents were James Johnson Flannagan and Virginia Crank. She had six brothers and a sister, named Thomas Lloyd, James Marvin, William Edward, Walter Bernard, Roy Flanagan, Richard Marion and Laura F.. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Sarah Maria, Frank Watson, Willie Walter and Mary Ella. She died at the age of 99 on December 15th, 1985.-
