Samuel was born in 1760 in Amelia Co., VA. Samuel's father was Samuel Overton and his mother was Rebekah Booker. His paternal grandparents were James Overton and Elizabeth Truehart; his maternal grandparents were Edmund Booker and Jane ?. He had two brothers named Thomas Perkins and John. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Richard, William and Rebecca Davis. He died after 1829 in Nelson Co., KY.-
