Robert was born in 1609 in Easington, Yorkshire, England.  Robert's father was John Overton and his mother was Joanne Palmer.  His paternal grandfather was William Overton; his maternal grandparents were Richard Palmer and Elizabeth Adcock. He had a sister named Grizell.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 70 on December 1st, 1679 in St. Bartholomew, London, England.
