Edward Champe Carter 
Edward Champe was born in 1798. Edward Champe's father was Edward Hill Carter and his mother was Mary Randolph Lewis. His paternal grandparents were Edward Carter and Sarah Champe; his maternal grandparents were Charles Lewis and Mary Lewis. He had two brothers named Charles Warner Lewis and Robert Willis. He had six half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Peter J., John Champe, Stanley, William, Champe Junius, Johnson, Caroline, Julia Ann, Laura B. and Mary. He died at the age of 61 in 1859.-
