Diana was born on April 30th, 1678. Diana's father was Thomas Carter and her mother was Katherine Dale. Her paternal grandparents were William Carter and Jane Myles; her maternal grandparents were Edward Dale and Diana Skipwith. She had ten brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Thomas, John, Henry Skipwith, Nicholas, William, Daniel, James, Peter, Joseph, Katherine and Elizabeth.-
