Alexander Armistead 
Alexander was born about 1815 in Virginia. Alexander's father was Jesse M. Armistead and his mother was Martha ?. His paternal grandparents were John Armistead and Elizabeth Oslyn. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John A., Joseph I., Jesse M., Thomas J., Julia Ann, Elizabeth and Martha S.. He was the oldest of the eight children.
