Hester Ann Amos 
Hester Ann was born on January 29th, 1878. Hester Ann's father was James Pleasants Amos and her mother was Elizabeth Jones Slayden. Her paternal grandparents were William Franklin Amos and Frances Jane Faudree; her maternal grandparents were George Washington Slayden and Sarah Wood Clark. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Charles Cleveland, James Washington, Seymore Clyde, Mary Lucy, Lydia Lockett, Claudia Herndon, Gertrude May and Elsie Arlington. She was the oldest of the nine children.-
