Claudia Herndon Amos 
Claudia Herndon was born on May 8th, 1883. Claudia Herndon's father was James Pleasants Amos and her mother was Elizabeth Jones Slayden. Her paternal grandparents were William Franklin Amos and Frances Jane Faudree; her maternal grandparents were George Washington Slayden and Sarah Wood Clark. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Charles Cleveland, James Washington, Seymore Clyde, Hester Ann, Mary Lucy, Lydia Lockett, Gertrude May and Elsie Arlington. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.-
