John Sumpter

John was born in 1766 in Virginia, United States.¹ John's father was *Henry Sumpter and his mother was Agnes D Dillon. His paternal grandparents were *Richard Sumpter and *Jean LNU; his maternal grandparents were *William Dillon and Mary Belcher. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William, George Washington, Henry, *Sarah Compton, Agnes, Sally and Polly. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 74 in 1840 in Arkansas City, Arkansas, Arkansas, United States.¹
