Selwyn was born on February 13th, 1897.  Selwyn's father was Percy Alexander Findlay and his mother was Alice Emily Jones.  His paternal grandparents were Henry(Harry) Alexander Findlay and Jane Watson. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Algernon, Norman, Ila, Meryl, Gwendoline, Lorna and Nancy.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 46 on June 21st, 1943.

Selwyn and Mollie were married on May 3rd, 1933.  They had three daughters named Anne, Jane and Mary .
