Charles was born in 1835 in Marden, Kent.  Charles' father was David STANLEY and his mother was Ann LAMBERT.  His paternal grandparents were Zebulon STANLEY and Ann SHAW; his maternal grandmother was Elizabeth. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William, David, George Lambert, Stephen, Rebecca, Ann Bowlden, Harriet and Sarah Boulden.  He was the youngest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 57 in January 1892 in Marden, Kent.  He was buried on January 30th, 1892 in Marden, Kent.
