David was born in 1790 in Marden, Kent.  David's father was Zebulon STANLEY and his mother was Ann SHAW.  His maternal grandparents were William SHAW and Sarah. He had five brothers and a sister, named William, Thomas, Samuel, Stephen, James and Sarah.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 58 in June 1848 in Marden, Kent.  He was buried on July 4th, 1848 in Marden, Kent.
