Sarah was born in 1788 in Marden, England, United Kingdom.  Sarah's father was Zebulon STANLEY and her mother was Ann SHAW.  Her maternal grandparents were William SHAW and Sarah. She had six brothers named William, Thomas, Samuel, David, Stephen and James.  She was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
