James Motion

James was born on August 19th, 1722 in St. Andrews and St. Leonards. James' father was Alexander Motion and his mother was Janet Collin. His paternal grandparents were John Motion and Christian Traill. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, Andrew, John, Alexander, Christian, Margaret and Elspeth. He was the third oldest of the eight children.
