Agnes was born on May 29th, 1768 in Dreghorn.  Agnes' father was Gabriel Galt and her mother was Jean Love.  Her paternal grandparents were John Galt / Gatt and Mary Walker; her maternal grandparents were Alexander Love and Jannet Brown. She had five brothers and five sisters, named John, Ninian, Gabriel, James, William, Jean, Margaret, Elizabeth, Ann and Agnes.  She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children.
