Hena Gitel was born on February 8th, 1852 in Golub-Dobrzyn, Poland.1   Hena Gitel's father was Abram Lewin (Layb) Pieniek and her mother was Szrenia Warszawa.  Her paternal grandparents were Tobiasz Pieniek and Ester Bezbrody; her maternal grandparents are Jakob Warszawa and Bayla. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Tobiasz Markus (Mordko), Jakob Jozef, Ber, Chana Sura and Hendel.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 9 on July 6th, 1861.
