Mary was born in 1605 in Eckington, Derbyshire, England.  Mary's father was William STANIFORTH and her mother was Mary (UNKNOWN).  Her paternal grandparents were William STANIFORTH and Joane MYCOCKE.  She had three brothers and five sisters, named Richard, John, Thomas, Dorothy, Anne, Elizabeth, Grace and Margaret.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
