Margaret was born in 1618 in Eckington, Derbyshire, England.  Margaret's father was William STANIFORTH and her mother was Mary (UNKNOWN).  Her paternal grandparents were William STANIFORTH and Joane MYCOCKE.  She had three brothers and five sisters, named Richard, John, Thomas, Dorothy, Anne, Mary, Elizabeth and Grace.  She was the eighth oldest of the nine children.
