Samuel was born in 1800 in Sale, Cheshire, England.  Samuel's father was John MARSLAND and his mother was Martha ALDCROFT.  His paternal grandparents were John MARSLAND and Mary WILLIAMSON.  He had six brothers and three sisters, named Edward, Robert, John, James, James, Thomas, Elizabeth, Mary and Martha.  He was the youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 81 on November 10th, 1881 in Sale, Cheshire, England.
