Edward was born in 1781 in Sale, Cheshire, England.  Edward's father was John MARSLAND and his mother was Martha ALDCROFT.  His paternal grandparents were John MARSLAND and Mary WILLIAMSON.  He had six brothers and three sisters, named Robert, John, James, James, Thomas, Samuel, Elizabeth, Mary and Martha.  He was the oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 59 in 1840 in Sale, Cheshire, England.
