Elizabeth was born in 1785 in Sale, Cheshire, England.  Elizabeth's father was John MARSLAND and her mother was Martha ALDCROFT.  Her paternal grandparents were John MARSLAND and Mary WILLIAMSON.  She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Robert, John, James, James, Thomas, Samuel, Mary and Martha.  She was the third oldest of the ten children.
