Mary was born in 1828.  Mary's father was John MARSLAND and her mother was Nancy WALKER.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward MARSLAND and Martha GRESTY.  She had six brothers and five sisters, named James, John, Joseph, John, Edward, Thomas, Sarah, Ellen, Ann, Nancy and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the twelve children.
