William was born in July 1880.  William's father was Stephen A. WALKER and his mother was Barbara Alice DISSER.  His paternal grandparents were John WALKER and Nancy NORRIS; his maternal grandparents were Michael (Sr.) DISSER and Catherine ANSTEATT.  He had four brothers and four sisters, named Lawrence E., John M., Martin, Stephen, Catharine, Florence, Mary E. and Barbara.  He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.
