John M. was born in 1878.  John M.'s father was Stephen A. WALKER and his mother was Barbara Alice DISSER.  His paternal grandparents were John WALKER and Nancy NORRIS; his maternal grandparents were Michael (Sr.) DISSER and Catherine ANSTEATT.  He had four brothers and four sisters, named Lawrence E., William, Martin, Stephen, Catharine, Florence, Mary E. and Barbara.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.
