IN:  Eliza 16, Catherine 13, Laura 9, (continues at top of next page), Margaret 5, and John B. 2.  (Age structure of houses is a match for Tho[mas] SPALDING but not for Tho SPAULDING in 1840 census (see below).)  There is also a Thomas J. SPALDING b. est. 1815 KY in Barr, Daviess in 1850 (Page: 157 Roll: M432_140), 35 (alt 33) KY, living with Elizabeth 24 KY, Hillary C. 6 M IN, William 4 IN, Elizabeth 2 IN, plus Mary (C.) LENTS 18 IN and Sarah I. LENTS 15 IN.

    1840 US Census (1 Jun), residing in Barr Twp, Daviess Cty, IN, head of h/hold is Tho[mas] SPALDING 00001-11001, (age 0-5, 5-10, 10-15, 15-20, 20-30) thus one male 20-30 (b est 1800-1810) (Thomas M.), one female 0-5 (b est 1835-1840), one female 5-10 (b est 1830-1835), and one female 20-30 (b est 1800-1810).  COMPTON, LENTS, EDWARDS, SHARUM, SEALS, BROWN, Charles STRANGE, ASH, SOALES, MILLER, Bennett WALKER, LOVE among immed neighbors.  There is also a Tho SPAULDING in Barr, Daviess in 1840, on same page as (father) Ignatius:  00001-10001, thus eldest male also b. est. 1800-1810 (Roll 77 Page 39).  This Tho SPAULDING's immed neighbor is Joseph SPAULDING (b est 1780-1790), who was living with three (sons) b. est. 1810-1815 in 1830 census; latter Tho more likely than former to be a son of Joseph.
