Janet's father was Andrew Taylor and her mother was Ann Scoffield.  Her maternal grandparents were James Scoffield and Jane Bone. She had six brothers and five sisters, named James, Andrew, Robert, Andrew, David, Joseph, Barbra, Annie, Jannet, Mary and Jane.  She was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.  She died at the age of 82 on March 24th, 1900 in Kilmarnock.
