Isabella's father was John Erskine and her mother was Betty Ogstone. She had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Robert, Robert, Boyd, Betty, Christian, Margaret and Christian. She was the second oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 83 in July 1845 in Kirknewton. She was buried on July 29th, 1845 in Kirknewton.¹¹
