Rebecca was born on November 26th, 1832 and her baptism took place on December 23rd, 1832 in South Mims Parish Church conducted by Curate Thos Price.1   Rebecca's father was Daniel Shambrook and her mother was Maria Lane.  Her paternal grandparents were James Shambrook and Elizabeth. She had five brothers and five sisters, named William, Daniel, Joseph, David, Benjamin, Ann, Maria, Mary, Eliza and Charlotte.  She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.
