William was born on September 27th, 1821 and his baptism took place on October 28th, 1821 in South Mims Parish Church conducted by Curate Wm Cresswell.1  William's father was Daniel Shambrook and his mother was Maria Lane.  His paternal grandparents were James Shambrook and Elizabeth Bent. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Daniel, Joseph, David, Benjamin, Ann, Maria, Mary, Rebecca, Eliza and Charlotte.  He was the oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 27 in 1848.2
