Mary's baptism took place on February 1st, 1789 in Cawthorne by Barnsley.1   Mary's father was John Marshall and her mother was Sophia Senier.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward Marshall and Sarah Hattersley; her maternal grandfather was George Senior (Taylor) and her maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. She had three brothers and four sisters, named George, John, Timothy, Ellen, Rachael, Susannah and Sophia.
