George was born on November 7th, 1790 and his baptism took place on November 7th, 1790 in Cawthorne by Barnsley.1   George's father was John Marshall and his mother was Sophia Senier.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Marshall and Sarah Hattersley; his maternal grandfather was George Senior (Taylor) and his maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. He had two brothers and five sisters, named John, Timothy, Ellen, Rachael, Susannah, Mary and Sophia.  He died at the age of 18 in 1808.  He was buried on March 22nd, 1808 in Cawthorne near Silkstone.2
